Neede a replacement disposer since the one I had started to sound like a mac truck with no muffler. The installation was a snap. This model is as quiet as one could expect a disposl to be. Geed choice indeed.

Quiet and powerful, I bought it to replace a 10 year old loud garbage disposal and I'm happy with it. When installing it just don't tighten too much as the ring on top of the sink seems to bend easily.

I was replacing a 14 year old GE 1/2 hp disposal with this one. I thought that because I was buying a 3/4 hp that it would be noisier but it was actually more quiet. Disposal extremely efficient and quiet. Love It!

Unit runs well, not obnoxiously loud. Installation went well if you read instructions correctly and use plumbers putty. I am a 61 year old woman and did the job myself!

I bought KCDS100T thinking that 1-Horsepower may be a bit noisy for but surprising enough it's quite and does a great job cleaning up the mess. I would definitely recommend this disposal.

I've only been using this Disposer for a few weeks but so far it is working great. My mother recently bought a different brand and she has had trouble with the water not going down her sink. Plus the drain plug on hers has a rubber stopper where food can get trapped and smell. Mine is made differently and all is good! My old disposer actually was still working after 28 years of use so when I renovated my kitchen I bought another Kitchenaid disposer. Love it so far!

I installed this myself about a week ago when a new sink was installed. My prior disposal was 1 hp and also had sound insulation but this one seems a little quieter than the prior one. It works fine, no problem grinding waste, and reasonably quiet. So far, completely happy with this purchase.

Very happy with this product. We replaced a leaking unit that I considered to be quiet. This product is significantly quieter. The installation was simple and straight forward. It does what it was advertised to do and it does it quietly.

A Nice Upgrade replacement

We just moved into a new home and had a much older KA Disposal that was extremely noisy, did not grind up food, and did not drain. The upgraded model has corrected all the problems we had. Quiet, efficient in grinding and disposing food, and backed by a sound warranty and support team.

This product was an upgrade from a 1/3 horsepower disposer. it took a plummer a little while to configure under our sink but once completed we were very happy. Very quiet too!

Quiet and vibration free to the point of wondering if it is really running. Had it for about 2 months now and still am amazed how quietly it works. Maybe a few bucks more than other 1 HP alternatives, but worth it... cant imagine that anything works better!

This was installed several weeks ago and I am very happy with it. It is reasonably quiet running and makes little noise when shredding stuff. There is a small amount of vibrational resonance in my stainless sink but it is still much quieter than any other disposer I have owned.

Purchased our first KitchenAid Disposer early 1999 after moving to Lexington, South Carolina. After 16 years it was still going strong with never a problem. In July of this year we moved to Florence, South Caroling purchasing a home about 8 years old. It wasn't long before the existing disposer started leaking. After we looked at all the big box stores my wife insisted she would have nothing but a KitchenAid disposer because of the flawless service we received in our previous home.

I bought this one month ago and installed it myself. It was fairly easy to do, although I wish the detents that tell you when the unit has rotated into place were more pronounced. I installed it and deinstalled it about three times before I convinced myself I had done it correctly. The unit is very quiet, I like that very much. The Quiet Collar sink baffle is very effective. I don't understand why some reviewers have complained about it. I replaced another Kitchen Aid disposer that lasted "only" 37 years.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and selected another brand waste disposer. Our contractor upgraded our selection to the KitchenAid 3/4 HP. Are we glad he did!!! This unit is super quiet and fast. It is a big improvement over the "good brand" unit we had before.

I was replacing a 20+ year old 1/2 hourspower KitchenAid model and I was afraid that the increased diameter of the new model would be a problem. As it turned out the demention that I was concerned about was below the red name plate area and it slipped right in with no problem. From start to finish the job took no more than 1/2 hour.

Purchased about a month ago. Installation was fairly easy. Unit runs quietly but doesn't seem to drain very fast. It has no problem disposing what food waste you put in it. The plastic housing of the unit seems cheap and doesn't fit together very well but doesn't affect the performance of the disposal

My wife picked this out after reading Consumer Reports. We were going through a kitchen remodel which included all new appliances. We had a good Insinkerator, but it was very noisy. So why not? This is the quietest garbage disposal I have ever heard. The housing is quite large, but it is a great disposal.

I'm extremely glad I stepped up to the heavy duty high end garbage disposal. This machine handles all our food waste, but it manages to do it QUIETLY! Relative to any other garbage disposal I've ever used, this is by far the quietest.
