After a couple of months of bliss Im writing to encourage you to follow me and the New York Times reviewers in purchasing this washer. It is great Quiet thorough in its cleaning and able to sense load requirements better than I. It has allowed me to use far less detergent and I am very pleased with the additional feature of tap cold. Ive used several features normal bedding and quick cycle but not allalways nice to have in a back pocket. My last washer and dryer were LGs and lasted 17 years Im sure my next will be as well - you cant go wrong with LG

I have had my washer for almost 2 months now and all I can say is now Im very happy with it. I say now because the 1st few times I used it when it came to the spin cycleeven though I had it on a low spin it was loud and would walk out of its space. After the 3rd time I contacted customer service and they were very helpful and put it a request for a service visit. They came out and were very helpful. Once the problem was diagnosed and corrected the washer has been working great. I love how quiet it is and because it is located in the outside shed I love having the app and being able to look on my phone to see when its done.

Service Nightmare

I bought the front load washer just a year ago quite satisfied with the performance until I start smelling heated electronic or motor going bad kind of distinctive bad smell. LG sent a contractor repairman to diagnose the problem. He decided it was the water pump. A pump was ordered came in the mail the next week. A different repairman came to install it. He broke the connecting cable to the display board while installing the pump A replacement board came a week later and the contractor scheduled an install two weeks later. At this point it was one month since I called for service. In the meantime laundry is piling up. Finally the repairman installed the display module and I couldnt believe it did not work at first. It turns out he did not install it properly. When that issue was fixed by reinstalling the machine lost its connection with my phone. It took another 2 hours on the phone with 3 off-shore LG customer support personnel that were hard to understand. They were nice and polite but just did not know the product guided only by their cheat sheets. It was so frustrating. Granted all these are under warranty but makes one wonder what is going to go wrong next and how soon.

Could have been better.

I bought this earlier this year in February from Costco. The first one came dented and then I had to week for a couple of weeks to get a replacement one. The second one came but it also had a technical problem and machine used to get turn off immediately after starting. A technician came after a couple of days and said that the drum which spins is not aligned. I had to wait again around 10 days to get a replacement. 10 days back the rubber at the door caught a cloth and got damaged powdered. I would have expected the machine to switch off automatically and show error in such situations. However seems like it went ahead spinning damaging the rubber and a few clothes. A technician came after a few days and replaced the rubber gasket. It has been an adventure as one can read from my review. The machine is good when it works. Easy to operate looks nice good price very minimal sound and cleans clothes well. However there have been some issues which LG should seriously consider to improve.

Great value small footprint

We got a great deal from Costco when we bought this washer and matching dryer about a year ago. One of the main considerations for buying these machines was their compact size especially the depth as our laundry room is a hall closet with bi-fold doors. Performance has been great for both washer and dryer with one exception. When washing bulky items like towels or cotton bath mats the washer has difficulty distributing the load and as such cant attain full speed to spin the water/soap out of the load. I checked the time it took on one particular load: 3 hours It just kept stopping reversing attempting to redistribute the load then doing that again and again. A repair technician came out and did a diagnostic check on the electronics and found all to be in order.

Needs a light in the washer and is just ok

I bought this about a month ago and it is just ok. The app is hard to use and set up. The washer has no tub light so its incredibly hard to see if one got all the laundry out of the tub. The dryer works fine but is hard to see all the settings when it is stacked.

Been a month and it works pretty good. The app doesnt work as well. Sometimes it doesnt sense the machines are on. Overall great product would by again. Clothes are dry in one cycle 9/10 times. Not sure how to turn off the sensor when added an item to dry or redrying the sensor would automatically change the time back to 5mins.
